Glenn Umlah-Principal has 32 years experience in the mortgage financing field. Since 1984, his efforts have been concentrated on the origination, underwriting and placement of commercial mortgages throughout the Atlantic Region on all property types with emphasis on income producing property and residential project financing. Glenn's career highlights include a number of regional management positions representing nationally focused Trust Companies. Glenn was appointed National Manager, Mortgages with Nova Scotia Savings and Loan Company in 1986 with responsibility for the maintenance and growth of a +/- $400 million mortgage portfolio.

In 1990 Glenn went on to create Equity Mortgage Corporation Limited operating as an independent mortgage brokerage firm. He subsequently developed a strategic partnership with Montrose Mortgage Corporation Ltd. in 1995 that eventually led to the adoption of the Montrose Mortgage brand in 1998.

Laurie Carr, B.Comm.-Associate has 34 years experience in the field of finance, banking, and commercial mortgage lending/brokerage. Since joining Morguard Trust Company in 1986, he specialized in commercial mortgage lending/brokerage and was appointed Regional Manager, Atlantic Canada in 1990 with Morguard's successor, Metropolitan Trust.

Laurie joined Equity Mortgage Corporation Limited in 1993 and through its strategic partnership with Montrose Mortgage Corporation Ltd. in 1995, continues to specialize in the placement of commercial mortgages with emphasis on conventional and CMHC insured construction and permanent lending for multi-family real estate projects, as well as continuing care and nursing home facilities. Other areas of expertise include financing of office, retail, light industrial, and hotel projects.

Angelo Lepore, CRF, ULE,- Senior Manager has 29 years experience specializing in real estate finance, lending, mortgage banking, institutional mortgage placement, and loan servicing. Educated primarily in British Columbia, Angelo has a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from UBC, a Real Estate Marketing diploma (Magna Cum Laude) from BCIT and a CRF designation (Certified in Real Estate Finance) from the Real Estate Institute of Canada.

Career highlights include relocation to Halifax in 1983 to manage mortgage and deposit operations for Morguard Trust Company. He served as Regional Vice President, Atlantic Canada (1985-1990), and as National Vice President of Mortgage Banking (1990-1993) for Morguard and its successor company, Metropolitan Trust. In 1994, he joined Security Home Mortgage Company, a publicly traded investment company specializing in mortgage-backed securities, as Chief Operating Officer.

In 1997 he joined Evangeline Trust (subsequently Equisure Trust, now ResMor Trust) as Vice President Operations where he was responsible for growing the lending and deposit portfolios. Subsequent to the sale of Equisure to ResMor, Angelo left Equisure Trust in June 2003 and is currently an associate of Montrose Mortgage (Atlantic).

Matthew Pendlebury, B.Com., ULE, CRF joined Montrose in 1999 after graduating from Saint Mary's University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. During the past 10 years Matthew has been involved in all aspects of real estate financing throughout Atlantic Canada. He has arranged and delivered financing on a broad range of properties including land development, multi-residential, retail, light industrial, office, and hotel.

Matthew is well versed in all aspects of construction financing and is especially proficient in CMHC insured lending for rental and condominium properties. Matthew has continued to gain valuable knowledge in the real estate field earning a Diploma in Urban Land Economics (focus on valuation and appraisal) from the University of British Columbia in 2004 and receiving the CRF (Certified in Real Estate Finance) from the Real Estate Institute of Canada in 2008.

Christos Panagiotakos, B.Com.,MBA (Finance) joined Montrose in 2007 after completing an MBA (finance) at Dalhousie University in Halifax. His undergraduate study was completed at St. Mary’s University. Christos has been involved in real estate development with family members while completing his degree, and is well versed in construction matters, financing, and real estate valuation.

Since joining Montrose he has gained valuable experience in the creation and presentation of mortgage investment brochures, and is completely familiar the security documentation, loan pricing, and the loan funding process. Christos plays a number of vital roles in the office, keeping the data base for the production team current and performing and creating the financial analysis necessary to support some of the complex underwritings undertaken by the members of the production team.

Sharon Maclean has been a part of the Montrose team since 1993 after working for more than six years, in an administrative capacity, in the transportation industry.

Sharon manages the daily operations of the front office and is responsible for general office administration. Sharon also provides accounting support, as well as clerical support to the senior associates.
